Our 7th annual RAT Race will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025
The RAT Race is a fun XC mountain bike race on flowy singletrack, encompassing the best trails at RAT trails. The RAT Race is hosted by RAT, a chapter of Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that advocates for mountain biking in western Colorado by building and maintaining sustainable singletrack.

If space is available, you can sign-up to race on-site from 5-8 PM on Friday, June 6 or from 6-7 AM on Saturday, June 7. Look for us in the lot adjacent to the MTN Lodge Ridgway.

The RAT Race offers categories suitable for intermediate and expert-level riders. Whether you're racing to win or just to have a good time, we welcome everyone to come out and join us for a fun day on the trails.
Race Categories:
Open | Men’s & Women’s Division (2 laps)
50+ | Men’s & Women’s Division (2 laps)
Casual | Men’s & Women’s Division (1 lap)
Single Speed | Men’s & Women’s Division (2 laps)
Junior | Men’s & Women’s Division (1 lap)
The race categories for Open, Single Speed or 50+ offers two laps on the course and approx. 38 miles of trail. The Junior and Casual categories offer one lap only with approx. 22 miles of trail. If you would like to ride two laps, please sign up for the Adult/Open division online.

Plate Pick up:
Racers can pick up plates and sign-in from 5-8 PM on Friday, June 6 or from 6-7 AM on Saturday, June 7. Look for us in the lot adjacent to the MTN Lodge Ridgway.
Race staging begins at 7:30 AM and is located on the south side of the MTN Lodge Ridgway. The race kicks off at 8 AM. After the race, join us for an after-party and podiums.

The RAT Race is typically held on the first Saturday in June every year. The next race will be held on Saturday, June 7.
The MTN Lodge Ridgway offers riders a 10% discount on room rates for two nights. Once a discount code is available, we'll post it here.

If you would like to camp, camping may be available in the Ridgway State Park, Ouray KOA as well as National Forest Campgrounds around Ouray, CO. Dispersed camping is typically available on BLM.
Parking is available along Palomino Trail Road by MTN Lodge Ridgway. Do not park at the main RAT Trailhead.
Online registrations typically go live online March 1 annually!
If space is available, you can sign-up to race just before the race at the MTN Lodge Ridgway from 5-8 PM on Friday or from 6-7 AM on Saturday.
There are various aid stations located at the northernmost part of the course and the midway point. SAR will also be monitoring the course.
Water will be provided at the aid stations but recommended all riders carry enough water for their needs. The weather can be hot and dry in June.
Yes, the time cutoff for two lap racers is 10 AM.
The race is capped to 200 riders.
