VOC - Ridgway Area Trails Construction

  • Ridgway Area Trails United States (map)

The first volunteer trail building opportunity will take place the last weekend in July, Sat. 7/27 and Sun. 7/28, with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) and we are seeking regional volunteers to help out.

Where you'll be:

Located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, Ridgway, Colorado is a base camp for regional adventures and outdoor activities.

What you'll do:

Join us for this trail extension project aimed at adding five miles of new natural surface singletrack to enhance the trail system. Over the weekend, you and other volunteers will construct a segment of these new trails, which will be designed with beginners and kids in mind - offering more options for riders of all levels.

Enjoy breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, along with dinner on Saturday. Bring your own lunch (BYOL). Free campsites are available on Friday night and Saturday night. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive at base camp before 8 PM on Friday.

Why it's important:

Expanding the trail network in the Ridgway Area Trails will not only provide trail users with a more varied and enjoyable experience but also promote safety by dispersing traffic across a wider area. With the addition of beginner and kid-friendly trails, the project aims to accommodate riders of all skill levels. If you are a mountain biker who would like to see expanded recreational opportunities in the Southern Mountains, this project is for you!
