DAMB…Just a few volunteers, from a small town, building something RAD!

The terrain surrounding Delta, Colorado is a goldmine of exciting mountain biking potential.  With current trails ranging from beginner-friendly riverside spins in the shade to epic quests in high desert solitude, to trails winding through high-alpine forests on the Grand Mesa, you’re sure to find something that’ll turn your crank!  If that sounds appealing, just wait to see what’s on the horizon with our current trails project, Smith Mountain.

Smith Mountain Project

DAMB’s Smith Mountain Trails project encompasses over 100 miles of proposed high desert single track, rideable year round, and just 10 miles east of downtown Delta.   What do YOU like to ride?  Chunky desert gnar? Flowy gravity fed jump lines?  Heart pumping endorphin quests that reward your effort with gorgeous views?  Kid friendly beginner trails to stoke the fire of your little ripper?  Smith will have it.   All this within the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation area, home of world class whitewater boating, fly fishing, and hiking.   If you are looking for one place that showcases all of the adventure options that western Colorado has to offer, Smith is it.  Never heard of it?  You will!

Check out the conceptual masterplan trail map below, donate to the cause, and get stoked!

Feb 2025

  • Currently, DAMB is working on generating the required master plan documents, maps, and cost estimates for submission to the Bureau of Land Management for review.  In addition, we are meeting with local officials and stakeholders to build awareness of the project and garner their support.  This process, while daunting, is essential for ensuring that the trails we will build at Smith, serve the recreational needs of Delta County residents, respect the history and ecology of this remarkable piece of the planet, and will be sustainable for generations into the future.  Please consider making a donation to our effort by clicking the button below.

DAMB History

DAMB is a dedicated small group of mountain bikers and trail maintainers that have been enjoying mountain biking and trail projects on the Western Slope for many years.  DAMB has been slowly developing trails in the Delta County area over the past decade.  Revitalized by a  group of dedicated riders, DAMB is rallying their energy behind building a modern and progressive trail system that offers something unique on the Western Slope.  Is momentum building?  You better DAMB believe it!
