2020 trail projects & how you can help!

COPMOBA has so many projects on tap for 2020, and to support those efforts, we're kicking off a community fundraising effort with the goal of raising $15,000 to support these projects! Palisade Plunge- When complete, the Plunge will connect the top of Grand Mesa to the town of Palisade via 32 miles of superb quality backcountry singletrack with 6,000′ of vertical descent.  If all goes well, construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2020.Uncompahgre Bash- This will be a huge volunteer event on the Uncompahgre Plateau where we host 3 days of camping and trail work on the beautiful trails in that area between GJ & Delta.Smith Mountain- This is a new trail system east of Delta for our DAMB chapter.  This year, we’ll continue working on a proposed trail design and required studies for this system.Escalante Triangle- This is a new trail system west of Delta for our DAMB chapter.  This year, we’ll work on finalizing a trail design with our public lands partners.Electric Hills- This is a new trail system for our Montrose chapter, and construction will begin this spring.  This will entail paid construction and a lot of volunteer trail construction.Buzzard Gulch- This is a project for our Montrose chapter to expand the current Buzzard Gulch trail system.Ridgway Area Regional Trail Plan- This is an exciting project for our Ridgway chapter to develop a long-term trail plan for the entire Ridgway area that includes partnering with other user groups to plan for future trials, maintenance, and recreational needs.North Fruita Desert- Our Grand Valley chapter will work with City of Fruita following completion of the North Fruita Desert (18 Road) master plan to begin implementation of plan goals.Mesa County Trail Maintenance- Our Grand Valley chapter will be working with Mesa County and regional partners on maintenance planning & funding efforts.West End Signage Project- This is a project for our West End chapter to put in signage on the hundreds of miles of trails they already have that are currently very difficult to explore due to the lack of signage and maps of the area.These are just a few of the projects we’ll be working on this year!  Visit www.copmoba.org to see the donation options and the options for thank-you gifts for donors!
